We are finally getting near the end. It's been a long couple of years. The Murphy bed went in today and cleared the curve in the back! We will still add brown fabric where the old paneling is and then attach the table that swings up when the bed is upright.
We have also lost a couple of inches in height as we have pretty much rebuilt this trailer from scratch. With all the damage to both the wood and aluminum, it's no wonder. Things will still work though.... and that's the main thing. Coming from a teardrop background, a couple of inches isn't anything we can't live without. Under most circumstances, this trailer would have likely been chalked up to being a parts trailer, too far gone to bother with repairing, so I guess we can look at all the work as another vintage trailer saved.
The trim gave us a bit of trouble in curved areas causing us to sink black screws in clear view. We will cover them with a neutral color of paint? that more matches the wood.
The bunk bed holders are in place above each window.
The stove still needs to be seated and attached to gas. The sink has a built-in "lid" that acts as more counter space when it is covering the sink. Still some plumbing to do. We will not store water inside in a permanent setup... we will however have a sink attached to plumbing should we have access to a outside hose.
In time we will add a cargo door and have an airconditioner in the bottom of the closet that can slide out when in use. We will use the rest the closet to store food and kitchen stuffs.
Still have a bumper to put on the back...... etc.
Curtains.... small details.... nearly done!
